CSF organizational chart: The governance structure of the CSF influences both its organizational decision-making and strategic planning processes. The governing members consist of students, faculty, and staff that are appointed by various entities from throughout campus. This governing body works parallel to the CSF staff, which helps to advise the Committee and carry out operational and administrative functions of the organization. The Committee structure was established in 2010 with some modifications made in the past 2 years. Voting members decide on the CSF’s annual budget which is broken out into 3 main categories: operations, overhead (includes marketing), and projects.

Azaan Brown (He/Him)

Azaan is passionate about the intersection of sustainability and social justice, particularly when it comes to prioritizing historically marginalized communities in sustainability initiatives. His vision for a more equitable UW campus is one where sustainability initiatives prioritize inclusivity, actively engage with marginalized communities, and work collaboratively with Indigenous voices to address environmental challenges, thus creating a campus environment that is not only environmentally responsible but also socially just. In his free time, Azaan enjoys skating, listening to music, and reading.

Julia Indivero (She/Her)

Julia is interested in how we can design our communities to be better for both nature, such as by providing habitat, and also for our health, such as by providing outdoor access, heat reduction, and cleaner air. She envisions a more equitable future where the UW campus provides services and physical spaces that everybody, all students and every member of the community, can engage with day-to-day that both improves their lives and have a benefit to nature. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, soccer, yoga, concerts, and reading.

Sofia is interested in environmental justice, and promoting recognition of the idea that sustainability is not just about the science and ecology of the environment, but also about social justice within that to ensure that everyone in these environments are treated equitably. They are passionate about making sustainability more inclusive for all students on the UW campus through environmental education and diverse groups that take into account different perspectives to create the best outcomes. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, listening to music, reading, and playing video games.

Mazzi Nowicki (She/Her)

Mazzi is interested in both recognizing and respecting cultural diversity and exploring how advancements in technology can enhance sustainable developments. She envisions a more equitable future on the UW campus through a community-driven approach that prioritizes inclusivity, embraces diverse perspectives, and integrates cutting-edge sustainable technologies to create a harmonious and resilient environment for all. Outside of school, she loves thrifting, being a barista, doodling, and hanging out with loved ones.

Tava is interested in incorporating Indigenous Knowledge in policy to alleviate the disproportionate impacts of environmental injustices on marginalized communities, specifically Native communities. He envisions a more equitable future where sustainability projects are brought forward by Indigenous students on campus. In his free time, Tava enjoys beading, drawing, taking long walks, and listening to music.

Neha is interested in the role of climate justice and intersectional sustainability in the built environment, particularly in how we can co-create more just and resilient cities as we plan and strive to reduce the impacts of climate change. She envisions a more equitable future on UW’s campus where all voices are represented and heard in conversations about sustainability, and where students are changemakers who play a role in decision making. In her free time, Neha enjoys running, reading, and spending time outside.

Sohara is interested in biodiversity conservation and intergeneration equity for climate change. She envisions a UW campus where within all academic programs there is the inclusion of sustainability issues and hands-on experiences such as volunteering at the UW Farm so that more students are more informed about human impacts. Outside of school, Sohara enjoys performing music and traveling (on a budget!).
